Roche today announced results from the Phase 3 ACELERA trial evaluating giredestrant, an oral selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD), in patients with ER-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer. The trial evaluated giredestrant as monotherapy or in combination with palbociclib versus standard endocrine therapy. Results showed improvements in progression-free survival in patients with ESR1 mutations, a common mechanism of endocrine resistance.
