Roche today announced positive results from the Phase 3 ALINA trial evaluating Alecensa (alectinib) as adjuvant therapy in patients with resected ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a significant improvement in disease-free survival compared to platinum-based chemotherapy. The risk of disease recurrence or death was reduced by 76% with Alecensa. These results led to FDA approval of Alecensa as adjuvant therapy for resected ALK-positive NSCLC, establishing a new standard of care in this molecularly defined patient population.
