Vertex Pharmaceuticals Reports Phase 3 Results for Next-Generation CF Triple Combination

Vertex Pharmaceuticals today announced Phase 3 trial results for its next-generation cystic fibrosis triple combination therapy vanzacaftor/tezacaftor/deutivacaftor. The trial demonstrated superior improvements in lung function, as measured by ppFEV1, compared to Trikafta (elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor) in patients aged 12 and older with at least one F508del mutation. The new combination also showed improvements in sweat chloride and body mass index.
