Vertex Pharmaceuticals Reports Phase 3 STRIVE Results for Kalydeco in Cystic Fibrosis

Vertex Pharmaceuticals today announced results from the Phase 3 STRIVE trial evaluating Kalydeco (ivacaftor) in patients with cystic fibrosis who have the G551D mutation. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a significant improvement in ppFEV1 of 10.6 percentage points compared to placebo. These results led to FDA approval of Kalydeco for CF patients with G551D mutation.
