Oncology cancer research laboratory

AstraZeneca today announced results from the Phase 3 LAURA trial evaluating Tagrisso (osimertinib) as maintenance therapy in patients with unresectable Stage III EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer following chemoradiotherapy. The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a significant improvement in progression-free survival with Tagrisso compared to placebo. The risk of disease progression or death was reduced by 84% with Tagrisso. These results represent a major advance in the treatment of Stage III EGFR-mutated NSCLC and support regulatory submissions globally.
