Novartis today announced results from the Phase 3 APPEAR-C3G trial evaluating Fabhalta (iptacopan) in patients with C3 glomerulopathy (C3G). The trial met its primary endpoint, demonstrating a significant reduction in proteinuria compared to placebo at 6 months. Improvements in kidney function and histological parameters were also observed. Iptacopan is a proximal complement inhibitor targeting factor B in the alternative complement pathway, which is central to C3G pathogenesis.
