Novartis Reports Long-Term CANTOS Data for Canakinumab in Cardiovascular Prevention

Novartis today presented long-term follow-up data from the CANTOS trial evaluating canakinumab in patients with previous myocardial infarction and elevated high-sensitivity C-reactive protein. The data showed that the cardiovascular event reduction with canakinumab was maintained over long-term follow-up, with the greatest benefit in patients who achieved the greatest reductions in hsCRP.
