Gilead Sciences Reports Phase 3 CAPELLA Results for Sunlenca in HIV Treatment

Gilead Sciences today announced results from the Phase 3 CAPELLA trial evaluating Sunlenca (lenacapavir) in heavily treatment-experienced adults with HIV-1 who had multidrug resistance. The trial demonstrated that 83% of patients who received lenacapavir plus an optimized background regimen achieved viral suppression at week 52. These results led to FDA approval of Sunlenca for treatment-experienced adults with multidrug-resistant HIV.
