Novartis Reports Phase 3 Lp(a)HORIZON Trial Results for Pelacarsen in Cardiovascular Disease

Novartis today announced results from the Phase 3 Lp(a)HORIZON trial evaluating pelacarsen, an antisense oligonucleotide targeting lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)], in patients with established cardiovascular disease and elevated Lp(a) levels. The trial demonstrated significant reductions in Lp(a) levels of approximately 80% compared to placebo. However, the trial did not meet its primary endpoint of reducing major adverse cardiovascular events.
